The kitchen is one of the most important rooms of the home. No one will argue that. It is a place where we gather with friends and family to dine or simply for some pleasant conversation. Of course, it has many more uses for different families. Cooking however in preparing meals is one of the main tasks of this room. And because of that, under cabinet lighting and kitchen lighting are of a most importance.
The lights in the room, when placed strategically, can enable you to prepare meals with great ease. At the same time, they can allow you to clean up the area so it is spotless. If you can’t see well enough, you can’t do either.

Basically, you should have some kind of task light above the kitchen sink, as mentioned above. There should be a general fixture in the center of the ceiling. This could be some kind of pendant, chandelier, tracks or even pot lights. The choice is yours and depends greatly on the design of the overall room. And of course, we can’t forget about the lights under the cabinets.
For those who rent, having these installed by electricians might not be the best solution. You’re probably looking for more portable solutions. With undercabinet lighting, this is possible. Some on the market work with batteries or can be plugged into an outlet. This can be a more logical solution.
